Pakistani television host Nida Yasir has shared how her son’s school principal disciplined him by taking away his tablet for a week, explaining how a non-physical approach helped him understand his mistake.
Speaking on her morning show, Good Morning Pakistan, Nida discussed how disciplinary methods can differ between school administrations and generations. She recalled that her son had experienced two principals, one around 60 years old and another in his thirties, whose approaches to discipline were different.

According to Nida, the younger principal recently confiscated her son’s tablet for one week as a consequence of his behaviour. She said the principal did not physically punish him, humiliate him in front of other students, or publicly disclose the matter.
Nida added that her son acknowledged his mistake after the punishment and promised not to repeat it. She also noticed an unexpected change during the week without his device: he cleaned and reorganised his room and took responsibility for the task himself.
The incident came up during a discussion about how parenting practices have evolved over time. Nida’s account highlighted an approach to discipline that focuses on setting boundaries, encouraging accountability and allowing children to learn from their mistakes without physical punishment.
