Pakistani actress Saboor Aly has explained why her young daughter Serena has started attending pre-school, revealing that the toddler currently spends only around 15 to 20 minutes there.

During her appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s entertainment show, Saboor spoke about Serena’s early experience at pre-school and said the short visits are mainly focused on play and interaction with other children.

According to the actress, she believes spending time around other children can help Serena develop social skills and become more comfortable communicating and interacting with people outside the family.

Saboor said Serena initially had an emotional reaction during her orientation class. Despite describing her daughter as a child who normally interacts confidently with people, she recalled that Serena was the only child crying during the session.

The actress said the situation has since changed. Serena has reportedly become comfortable with the environment and developed a bond with her teacher. Saboor shared that her daughter now sometimes cries when returning home because she wants to remain with her teacher.

Saboor’s comments have also prompted discussion on social media about the appropriate age for children to begin attending pre-school.

Some users questioned whether a child around 18 months old should already be introduced to a school environment, arguing that toddlers may benefit from spending more time at home during their early developmental years.

Others defended Saboor’s decision, noting that some early-years programs are designed more around play, interaction, and social development than formal academic learning.

The discussion highlights the different approaches parents take when deciding how and when to introduce young children to group learning environments. In Serena’s case, Saboor has made clear that her daughter’s current routine is limited to a very short, play-focused visit rather than a conventional full school day.
