Pakistani actress Sahar Hashmi has challenged the double standards surrounding professionalism in the drama industry, questioning why artists face criticism for minor delays while production teams can leave their financial commitments unresolved for months.
In an Instagram story, the actress highlighted how artists may be labelled unprofessional for arriving even a day late, while delayed payments can remain unresolved for months under the explanation that they are stuck in accounts.

Her remarks draw attention to the issue of timely payments and professional accountability in Pakistan’s drama industry. Although production schedules often require artists to meet strict deadlines, Hashmi’s comments question why similar expectations are not always reflected in payment practices.
Hashmi has gained recognition through several television projects, including Zulm, Shaidai and Zanjeerain. She is also set to appear in Dar-e-Nijaat, where she will portray a younger version of Khushbakht’s character.
Her statement has brought renewed attention to the importance of professional conduct and timely financial commitments within the entertainment business.
